Healthy Families Dorchester

A resource, referral, and home-visiting program, offered at no cost that assists parents in giving their children a healthy and safe start. Recognizing that we all need support from others during times of change, Family Assessment and Support Workers can help determine a family’s needs and assist in accessing resources to meet those needs. When indicated, the program can provide home visiting services until the child is three years old. All Dorchester County pregnant women and their families and families with newborns are eligible, regardless of their income.

Connecting for Success

Connecting For Success (CFS) offers a two-generational approach to serving children and families impacted by incarceration in Dorchester County. Services include mental health counseling for children who have an incarcerated parent, community and jail-based educational groups such as “Parenting Inside Out”. Life Skills classes and the Prison Yoga Project, and outreach services for justice-involved parents and their families. Case managers are available to assist incarcerated parents with goal planning and linking to resources in an effort to promote successful community reentry and family stabilization. Call 410-228-4368 for more information.
