Pre-register online or call 410-228-0235 to schedule an appointment for the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine at the Dorchester County Health Department. For information about community vaccination clinics, please call 410-228-0235 as locations and times vary.

Individuals age 5 and up are eligible for COVID-19 vaccination. Individuals age 12 and up who completed a primary series of Pfizer or Moderna at least 5 months ago or J&J at least 2 months ago are eligible for a booster. Eligible individuals can choose which booster shot to get.

Dorchester County Health Department is seeking a full-time, merited (benefits included) Community Health Educator II to serve as the Mid-Shore Opioid Misuse Prevention Program (OMPP) Coordinator.  This position facilitates the collaboration of local substance abuse prevention and related professionals among the five-county region (Dorchester, Talbot, Caroline, Queen Anne’s, and Kent Counties) to conduct needs assessment activities, capacity building, strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation to prevent opioid misuse and related deaths.

The salary range is $42,294.00 – $54,521.00, with potential growth to $67,106.00/year.  Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health Education, Community Health Education, or Health Science and one year of experience planning, developing, implementing and promoting health education projects.  Candidates may substitute a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 18 credit hours in Public Health Education, Community Health Education, Health Science, or related behavioral science and two years of experience planning, developing, implementing and promoting health education projects for the required education and experience.
